Solar water heating in Spain is now a requirement in all new buildings and a sensible addition to any reformation. A properly sized system can supply most of the domestic hot water an average family needs throughout the year, and with the addition of an on-demand gas or electric boiler, for all of the year, at a running cost significantly less than other means.
However, systems need to be sized accurately and this can only be done with careful planning and local knowledge. Weather patterns vary significantly in Spain so where vacuum tube systems may work well in the north they may not be suitable for the south. To meet these different needs we only supply products from manufacturers that are market leaders in their particular field.
Most of these systems has been tested by us or somebody else that we trust and in many cases we use them in our own homes, so we are confident of their performance and reliability, but as an additional safeguard they are also approved by Aven (Agencia Valenciana De La Energia) as an approved product for reimbursement grants and because of their EU certification are acceptable in other regions.
We do not use domestic water systems to heat swimming pools but we do have specialist products in our portfolio to meet this need. All of our systems for this purpose are solar based so that we comply with local and national legislation, which now bans any form of heating that requires a fossil fuel - Oil, Gas or Electricity to heat an external swimming pool, which leaves solar or biomass as the only legal means of heating that can be used.
