Designing a System

Designing a heating and cooling system that will work efficiently for many years is a complex operation and the design engineer needs a lot of information to do it properly. This information is usually available for a new build because the plans provided by the architect will include a construction materials list, heat and loss calculations and information on the level of insulation built into the fabric of the building, but for a building that has been altered or reformed over a period of time its likely the information will not be available and the design engineers will need to make their own calculations, based on a detailed site visit or from information obtained from the client. The designer will also need to know which boiler or heat pump will be used in the installation.

To assist the engineers in this process and to help clients that are not available for site visits we have included a detailed .pdf file on our downloads page, which can be completed either on line or as a printed copy, which can be faxed or emailed to us once it has been completed (currently under construction).

With this information a heating and cooling requirement can be calculated and appropriate options can be determined and made available to the client.
