Modern Biomass boilers are extremely efficient and because of their ability to burn a variety of renewable fuels, are economic and reliable.
They are available in sizes that range from small stand-alone fireplace units to large industrial units and can be incorporated into heating and hot water systems. Fuel is available from several outlets, can be purchases in large bags or in bulk supplies which can be connected to automated feeder systems and are relative inexpensive to operate compared with oil or gas, as a typical unit will cost about 50% less to run than an oil boiler of equivalent size and about 65% less to run than gas. Unlike some log burners they are also extremely clean and in some cases only require the ash pan to be emptied once or twice a month.
Biomass Boilers are classified as environmentally friendly and are eligible for reimbursement grants in Spain.
